I'm gonna wear what?!! ON STAGE??!! Week 1

Well it's official...I've gone crazy and signed up to compete in a swimwear competition December 14, 2013. And by swimwear competition I mean the toned, tan and lucite heel wearing fitness competition!! My good friend Hannah Etherson from Train Insane Gym (the gym I go to) signed up a few weeks ago and has absolutely inspired me to change my not so wonderful habits and do something life changing. Like her, this blog is to keep myself accountable and of course a way to share ideas and the occasional vent. (I mean...how many meals can you eat chicken before it starts to make you gag...right!?!)

So, how does one get ready for an event like this...I HAVE NO IDEA!!! I talked to my trainer Geoff about meal planning, training and what to expect. My first question to him was, " Do you really think I could look like those girls?". Without hesitation he responded with, "Yes!". My anxiety level lowered a little bit at that moment...but i still feel my heart racing when I think about it throughout the day.

First things first, I have to get my food in order, specifically my macro nutrients. For my age, height and weight I have to eat between 1700-1800 calories a day. I know that sounds like a lot, but when 120 calories goes to a tablespoon of Udo's Choice Oil a little part of you dies with that nasty gulp. I am planned to eat 135 grams of Protein, 180 grams of carbs and 60 grams of fat. DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO GET THOSE BALANCED!!!?? Thank god for the app my fitness pal...I've been able to play around with what I plan to eat throughout the week to get all of those levels correct. My biggest challenge is getting enough protein without too much fat. I'm not a huge meat eater either...I like a few bites with dinner, so this is going to be extremely challenging. As Hannah ever so politely puts it on her blog, "I just choke it down" which is the truth!! I just keep saying to myself that being Fit tastes better and I wont care once I feel the changes in my clothes and see the changes in my body.

Am I scared....EFF YES!!! I'm freaking out a little bit. I've never been the type to be a gym rat and my habits have always come and gone. I'm kind of getting that pukey feeling thinking about right now. GULP.

So it's time to throw alcohol and old habits out the window. With open arms I welcome Train Insane 4 times a week and analyzing every piece of food I put into my body.

If anyone wants to know my meals or has questions just let me know and I will do my best to answer them for you :)

Cheers to kicking ass and taking names!!
